Welcome From the Chair
The Aotearoa New Zealand National Branch comprises all Fellows, retired Fellows, Associates of ACEM residing in Aotearoa New Zealand. These members are represented by the Aotearoa National Council on a range of educational and advocacy issues.
As Chair of the Aotearoa New Zealand National Council, I am committed to advocating on behalf of more than 400 members across the state. The Aotearoa New Zealand National Branch meets between one and three times per year and all FACEMs, retired FACEMs, Associates and trainees are encouraged to attend. These meetings – which feature guest speakers, relevant themes, and important updates – form the basis of the National Branch’s social, wellbeing and advocacy activities throughout the year.
There are numerous ways of getting involved in the College and our National Branch has proven to be a great starting point for connecting our members with the issues and activities of greatest interest to them. The more voices we hear the better our advocacy can be – our National Branch is a respected voice in the media; we have effective lines of communication with the government and enjoy rewarding relationships with other medical colleges and stakeholders.
As always, please let me know of issues affecting you locally so we can continue to advocate on your behalf at [email protected].
Dr Michael Connelly
