Information for activity providers

• Workshops, including those incorporating the ACEM CPD Procedural Skills list
• Seminars
• Other activities which extend specialist knowledge and skills in EM.

OSCE prep programs will not be approved by the College as they are an activity designed for and attended by trainees. CPD participants who engage in the programs as Faculty, may record CPD hours under the category of Educational Activities.

Before applying for approval, ensure you can:

• Demonstrate how your activity aligns with one or more domains of the ACEM Curriculum Framework.
• Confirm the ability to provide ACEM with a list of ACEM CPD program participants within 10 working days of the conclusion of the event/course.
• Provide an event/course program.
• State the learning outcomes of your educational activity.
• Ensure the participants’ needs are taken into consideration.
• Ensure it is an evidence-based activity.
• Maintain the clinical and ethical standards throughout your activity.
• Include adequate time for interaction and discussion if your activity is face-to-face.
• Collect participant feedback on your activity.
• Issue participants with a certificate of completion or attendance which states their name, date and duration of your activity.

Submit a completed CPD approval application form to [email protected] and pay the application fee.

CPD Activity Approval fees:

• $195 AU
• $175 NZ & Overseas

The application fee is waived in certain circumstances, including if the event or activity is run by a registered charity or not-for-profit organisation.

After receiving your application, ACEM determines:

• The category and activity type of which your approved activity falls within the CPD Program.
• The CPD hours and minutes your activity is approved for, excluding registration and any recreational components.

Once approval is granted, you will receive authorisation to use the CPD Approval Activity logo and to promote the activity as ACEM Approved CPD activity.

One-off activities will remain approved until their date of completion. Ongoing activities will remain approved until the end of the applicable CPD year.

At the end of this year, you will be invited to re-apply for approval. If there has been a change to your program, or to the content of the activity, you will be required to apply for re-assessment.

Providers are required to submit a Participation Register to the CPD Unit within 10 working days of the workshop/event.
