What is ACEM Assist?
ACEM Assist is an initiative of the College to provide members and trainees with access to confidential counselling, coaching and support for workplace and personal issues.

All members and trainees of the College.
How do I access ACEM Assist?
Use your College login to access details of the service provider.

What personal details will I be asked to provide?
When making a booking you will be asked to provide your name, date of birth, state/territory/country, organisation (i.e. ACEM) and whether you are a emergency medicine professional.
When can I call and arrange an ACEM Assist session?
Office hours are 8:00am - 6:00pm AEST Monday to Friday.
Where/how can I see a counsellor?
Counselling services are delivered over the phone, via Zoom (online video chat), in person at one of the sessional offices or face-to-face by a consultant located around the country.
Who pays for the counselling services?
ACEM Assist is free for members and trainees to use (session limits apply). The cost of the service is a benefit of membership with the College.
Is counselling only available for work-related issues?
No, ACEM Assist is available when you need support across a range of work-related and personal issues and concerns.
What types of sessions are available?
Counselling, coaching and support is available across several streams. Streams include Leadership, Career, Conflict, Nutrition + Lifestyle, Finance and traditional counselling.
Is there a limited on the number of sessions I can access?
Yes, you can access up to four sessions per stream in any 12-month period.
Is counselling only available for work-related issues?
No, ACEM Assist is available when you need support across a range of work-related and personal issues and concerns.
Can I speak to someone in a language other than English?
The client services officer who answers will speak English only. However, on request, you can arrange to speak with consultants who can speak other languages. There is also a translator service available to assist you to make a call in your own language.
