The College has committed to two key action plans that will help enact meaningful cultural change in the College and in emergency departments.
The Diversity and Inclusion Steering Group was created as the first step of the Discrimination, Bullying and Sexual Harassment action plan. The group was established to oversee the implementation of this action plan over the coming years.
In February 2017 the College established an Expert Advisory Group (EAG), chaired by Dr Helen Szoke, to assess and advise on concerns about discrimination in College assessments.

The Expert Advisory Group (EAG) on Discrimination Action Plan details the actions the College will take in responding to the recommendations of the EAG. The Discrimination, Bullying and Sexual Harassment (DBSH) Action Plan looks at the wider issue of DBSH in the speciality of Emergency Medicine. Both action plans were released in February 2018. The Diversity and Inclusion Steering Group will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of the DBSH Action Plan, while the EAG Implementation Steering Group will monitor the implementation of the actions outlined in the EAG Action Plan.
