The Committee oversees and undertakes important work to improve inclusivity within ACEM’s activities, increases education and training in the areas of diversity and inclusion, and advocates for emergency department workplaces that are safe, respectful and inclusive for all patients and staff. The Committee achieves its objectives by providing recommendations to the ACEM Board in relation to matters that involve changes to the College’s policies, processes and/or activities as well as by providing advice and guidance to other ACEM’s entities.
EOIs and/or nominations that reflect the diversity of the ACEM membership are encouraged. Where applicable, appointments will be made to ensure diversity is reflected in the Committee’s membership.

Meetings:
- Attendance at the Committee’s meetings (at least three annually).
Members will be appointed to the Committee for a period of two years after which there will be a full spill and ‘ordinary’ FACEM, trainee and other member positions will become vacant.
There are currently three (3) trainee positions available on the Committee.
The call for EOIs will close at 5:00pm (AEST) on Friday 1 March 2024.
Following the close of the EOI period, the ACEM Board will determine the selection of trainee members, based on each applicant’s statement of suitability and their CV.
