ACEM Guideline COR742, Guideline for the Provision of Emergency Department Focused Ultrasound Training and Governance, recommends ‘that sites appoint Clinical Leads in Ultrasound (CLUS) to assist with the supervision, assessment, ultrasound training and education of all FACEM trainees at their site(s)’.
A Clinical Lead in ED Ultrasound Forum has been developed for communication between those who are the Clinical Lead in ED Ultrasound at their site. If you are in this position and do not yet have access to the Clinical Lead in ED Ultrasound Forum, we encourage you to complete the registration form at the link below. Following completion of the form, the information will be considered by the ED Ultrasound Committee and you will then be granted access to the Forum.
Prior to completing the form (which you can find below), you will need to obtain written confirmation (email or letter) from the DEM/s at your hospital/s that you are the nominated Clinical Lead in ED Ultrasound. This needs to be in word, pdf, jpg, or png format.
For the purposes of the Clinical Lead in ED Ultrasound Forum, there should be a maximum of two Clinical Leads per hospital, and each Clinical Lead will need to complete a separate registration form.
Those who are already registered can access the forum here.
The ACEM & EMUGs Collaboration Working Group, a joint working group of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (ACEM) and the Emergency Medicine Ultrasound Groups (EMUGs), has developed a collection of resources to support Clinical Leads in ED Ultrasound. Under the pillars of Human Resources, Infrastructure, Administration, Education, and Quality, the Clinical Leads resources can be found here.
