Devised after months of intensive discussion and collaboration with the ACEM community, it embodies the vision, mission and core values that sit at the heart of our College. ACEM’s Strategy will guide our College into the future, building on a strong foundation of expert members and trainees, dedicated professional staff, robust systems, and a reputation for excellence in emergency medicine.
The Strategy outlines measures to continuously advance the quality of emergency medicine in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand through:
- Effective physician training and professional development
- Serving members of our College in their work
- Expanding our membership and growing our community of practice
- Connectivity to world-class academic and applied research
- Strong advocacy for high-quality, humanistic emergency care across our nations
Following the principle of mahi tahi – working together to solve problems – we will strengthen existing partnerships and forge new ones.
ACEM’s imperatives are to serve the people of Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand with emergency care expertise and advocacy for a better healthcare system; serve excellence in medical professionals; serve College members; and serve our College’s future as an inclusive, representative and strong bi-national organisation.
The structured approach of the Strategy is designed to support our action plan and ensure we deliver real value to our community.
