Inaugural Leadership and Governance Diversity Report

As part of the Action Plan, the College identified the need to increase diversity on College entities to reflect the demographics of the ACEM membership. As part of this, the College has committed to the annual publication of a Governance and Leadership Diversity Report, which details the composition of key ACEM governance entities. Leadership and Governance Inclusion Action Plan 

The Inclusion Committee has developed a Leadership and Governance Inclusion Action Plan. The Action Plan is progressing according to the following three principles.

  • The governance and leadership of the College reflects the diversity of the membership.
  • There are opportunities/pathways/mechanisms to ensure diversity and inclusivity in leadership and governance activities.
  • There is accountability for ensuring diversity and inclusivity in leadership through reporting, monitoring and evaluation.
Committee Experience Program (CEP)

ACEM is committed to fostering and promoting the principles of diversity and inclusion among its members and trainees, and as part of the Governance and Leadership Inclusion Action Plan, the CEP was established.

The CEP provides all members and trainees with an opportunity to experience what it is like to join a committee, by allowing them to take part as a non-voting member, attend meetings and join the discussion, and see how involvement can shape the future of emergency medicine.
