Inaugural Leadership and Governance Diversity Report

As part of the Action Plan, the College identified the need to increase diversity on College entities to reflect the demographics of the ACEM membership. As part of this, the College has committed to the annual publication of a Governance and Leadership Diversity Report, which details the composition of key ACEM governance entities. Leadership and Governance Inclusion Action Plan 

The Inclusion Committee has developed a Leadership and Governance Inclusion Action Plan. The Action Plan is progressing according to the following three principles.

  • The governance and leadership of the College reflects the diversity of the membership.
  • There are opportunities/pathways/mechanisms to ensure diversity and inclusivity in leadership and governance activities.
  • There is accountability for ensuring diversity and inclusivity in leadership through reporting, monitoring and evaluation.
Committee Visitor Scheme

As part of the Governance and Leadership Inclusion Action Plan, a key activity in the Action Plan is establishing a ‘Committee Visitor’s Scheme’.

The purpose of the Committee Visitors Scheme (CVS) is to provide all members and trainees a chance to experience what it’s like to serve on a committee, contribute to the future of Emergency Medicine, and take part as a non-voting member, with the opportunity to attend a committee meeting and join the discussion.
