ACEM’s second annual Patient Safety Workshop is an opportunity for members and trainees to hear from experts about what’s going right and what’s going wrong in emergency care, the range of factors contributing to these outcomes, and how to develop and support teams and cultures that result in a safe emergency department. An exciting program is being developed. In a headline session, leading clinicians from Melbourne’s highest case-volume hospitals in the second COVID-19 wave – Royal Melbourne Hospital, Northern Hospital and Peninsula Health – will discuss what they learnt from COVID about maintaining quality in times of high vigilance and high cognitive load.
