ACEM is calling for all Australian governments to act urgently to improve care for members of the community seeking mental health support, and address unsustainable pressures on hospital emergency departments. In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, which will continue to contribute to increasing and complex mental health issues and pressures on already-stretched health systems, action is needed now more than ever to build and sustain a functioning, integrated mental health system across the whole spectrum of care.
