The LMIC Delegate Subsidisation Scheme (LDSS) provides a centralised application process for LMIC Emergency Care clinicians to apply for a subsidised registration to attend ICEM 2022.
The hybrid conference, that runs from the 14th to the 19 June 2022, both virtually and at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, encapsulates a vison of healthcare that is grounded in equity, social justice and sustainability. The conference will showcase presentations on advances in care systems, research, trauma, paediatrics, toxicology and aged care.
ICEM 2022 Conference Convenor Dr Simon Judkins said, “ICEM 2022 is the perfect place to implement a scheme like this one. It coincides with the theme of the conference which is ‘Better Care for a Better World’ and I believe that it’s exactly what LMIC Subsidisation Scheme is aimed at providing.”
“We all share the same goal, and we all work towards a better world where one day healthcare is accessible for all.”
Manager of Global Emergency Care Sarah Körver said, “ACEM is proud of its diverse partnerships for emergency care capacity development that promote reciprocity and mutual learning. The scheme provides another avenue for us to convene, collaborate and continue to learn from emergency care colleagues across the region and beyond.”
ICEM 2022 is offered as a hybrid model. Due to the ongoing uncertainty of the COVID-19 global pandemic, the LDSS will focus on supporting virtual registrations.
Dr Judkins said, “Offering a hybrid model at the conference is a wonderful way for the College to welcome a larger community who may not be able to attend in person. We want to make sure everyone has access to the speakers and workshops offered throughout the five days in a truly global conference for anyone who delivers emergency medical care.”
Delegates and partners are invited to donate to the Scheme. Ms Korver said, "We are grateful to the conference delegates and our global emergency care partners in Australia, Aotearoa New Zealand and the region who have and are planning to support us to maximise the number of Low-and Middle-Income Countries represented in attendance at this landmark event."
Delegates can contribute individually to the LDSS during their registration process. All other donors can contribute by contacting ICEM Event Manager, Rebecca Thompson.
