The Committee oversees and undertakes important work to improve inclusivity of ACEM’s activities, increase education and training in the areas of diversity and inclusion and advocate for emergency department workplaces that are safe, respectful and inclusive for all patients and staff. The Committee does this through the provision of recommendations to the Board in relation to matters that involve changes to College policy, processes and/or activities as well as providing advice and guidance to ACEM entities.
Expressions of interest and/or nominations that reflect the diversity of the ACEM membership are encouraged. Where applicable, appointments will be made with consideration given to the objective of ensuring this diversity is reflected in the membership of the entity.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitoring the progress and implementation of ACEM's Leadership and Governance Inclusion Action Plan.
- Providing leadership in promoting and embedding a culture of zero tolerance throughout ACEM as an organisation, its membership and the broader practice of emergency medicine.
- Monitoring ACEM’s initiatives to support the wellbeing of trainees and Fellows.
Meetings
- Attend IC meetings (at least three annually)
Members will be appointed to Committees for the 2023-2025 term.
Once the EOI period closes selection of members will be undertaken by the ACEM Board, based on your statement of suitability and CV.
The positions currently available are for six (6) FACEM’s.
The call for EOIs will close on 20 October 2023.
