The faculty meets regularly, with both online and in-person options offered to suit members’ busy schedules. All faculty members, including retired Fellows and trainees, are welcome to attend and participate.

The next Faculty meetings are:

• Tuesday 15 May at 12pm AEST – Online
• Thursday 7 August at 12pm AEST – Logan Hospital
• Thursday 16 October at 12pm AEST – Online

Membership of the QLD Faculty Board consists of:

• Four members elected by faculty members (‘FACEM members’); and
• Members holding other elected positions within the College, who are then members of their regional Faculty Board by virtue of their substantive role.

The Faculty Board meets regularly and works to deliver the educational and advocacy priorities of the wider faculty. FACEM members are elected for two-year terms, with the current members elected in November 2023. All positions on the Faculty Board are currently filled.
 
If you are interested in becoming a FACEM member of the Faculty Board, there will be a call for nominations in mid-2025, with a vote open to all faculty members should more members nominate than there are positions available.

The QLD Faculty releases a ‘Faculty Update’ each month, sent by email to all faculty members. The Faculty Update contains all the latest news for the faculty, including recent advocacy activities, upcoming events and important College news. Submissions from all members are encouraged via this form.

The College also produces:

• The Bulletin provides a weekly update of the latest news, opportunities, jobs and events for all members and trainees of the College.
• Your ED is ACEM’s quarterly magazine. It is filled with stories from emergency departments across Australia, Aotearoa New Zealand and the world.
• Trainee News is an e-newsletter providing the latest news, updates and opportunities for trainees of the College.

If you would like to promote a specific job vacancy, or external conference or workshop, advertisements are also accepted from individuals and organisations.

In addition to faculty meetings, ACEM also runs a series of events, activities and workshops in QLD . Upcoming events can be found in the ACEM Events Calendar, filtering by location.

The faculty is involved in a range of policy development and advocacy activities, such as access block, mental health, acute aged care, violence in emergency departments, telehealth and cultural safety. More details can be found here.
