The Global Emergency Care Community of Practice (GECCoP), facilitated by the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (ACEM), aims to bring together like-minded individuals to share ideas, innovations and opportunities in global emergency care (GEC). This informal community-led forum was established in 2022 and encourages communication and partnership between individuals and organisations engaged in GEC capacity development across the Indo-Pacific region. GECCoP meets virtually twice per year, providing a forum for resource sharing, networking, and mutual learning among the GEC community.
GECCoP is currently co-chaired by Dr Donna Mills (FACEM chair) and Ms Sarah Bornstein (non-medical chair).
Membership to GECCoP is free of charge. It is open to individual clinicians and development practitioners with an interest in GEC, and organisations involved in GEC capacity development. Membership is not just limited to doctors and nurses, and we want to encourage any clinician with an interest to join GECCoP. To become a GECCoP member and be notified directly of upcoming GECCoP events, register here.
