This workshop gave the opportunity for fellows and trainees with an interest in patient safety to hear from experts about what is going wrong in emergency care, the range of factors contributing to these errors and how to develop and support teams and cultures that result in a safe emergency department.
The program combines presentations from leading researchers, panel sessions with practitioners and group discussion of cases. Its focus is on encouraging sustainable improvements in culture, process and outcomes and encouraging emergency physicians to take the lead in advancing patient safety.
