Andrew started his career at Otago Medical School, New Zealand, and travelled to the UK to experience the NHS. Upon his return to the great southern lands he flew to Melbourne and commenced his emergency medicine training.

Fitting with emergency medicine, Andrews interests are broad, encompassing system design, quality improvement, minimising low value care and more recently, the interactions of digital health with workflow and staff. In 2023, his sabbatical was on the topic of electronic clinical decision support in the ED, and he now works between Mercy Health and Austin Health.

Outside of work, he enjoys swimming for fitness, photography when travelling and attempts to go hiking / tramping when everything aligns.
