Louise is an experienced Chair, Board, Government Committee Member and Chief Executive Officer with over twenty years of board level experience across the government and not for profit sectors with experience in the health and assisted reproductive treatment industries. On boards and committees, Louise focuses on governance improvements, contributing to regulatory oversight, policy development and strategic direction or innovation.
Louise is a member of the Embryo Research Licensing Committee with the National Health and Medical Research Council; and a former member of the Victorian Board of the Medical Board of Australia as well as the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia; and former Chair and board member of Women’s Health Victoria.
In an executive capacity Louise was recently employed as the CEO of Victorian Assisted Reproductive Treatment (VARTA). As VARTA CEO, Louise led oversight of the IVF industry in Victoria, collaborating with key stakeholders including the Victorian Health Minister, State and Commonwealth Governments, university institutes, industry representative and accreditation bodies to support quality health care and service provision, policy development, and research related to community education or service provision.
With broad qualifications, Louise has a Bachelor of Science and a Masters of Regulatory Studies, is a graduate of the AICD’s Company Directors course and has postgraduate qualifications in education and management. In 2019, Louise was one of 25 women awarded by Women’s Health Victoria as a Champion for Women in recognition of her board and executive work.
Louise has recently moved to rural Victoria and is enjoying the tree-change with family and dogs.
