Integrity in Emergency Medicine

ACEM has many standards to help guide your practice in emergency medicine.

The Standards and Advocacy Library contains all ACEM standards, guidelines, policies, position statements and submissions made to other organisations.
The Quality Standards for Australian Emergency Departments and other Hospital-Based Emergency Care Services (1st edition) aims to provide guidance and set expectations for the provisions of equitable, safe and high-quality emergency care. The Standards were written to address the whole ED process, encompassing the patient experience from presentation to discharge, transfer or admission.
The Policy on the Integrity of Data Collection in Emergency Departments states that the data collected to measure performance is essential to inform policy and planning decisions. It must be accurate and comprehensive to be an effective tool for analysis and improvement.

Emergency departments foster a very cohesive environment where both medical and non-medical professionals work together towards a common goal of providing a patient with the best treatment possible. This can only be accomplished by treating each other with respect and integrity.
