Suggested reduction of availability by shortened trading hours, proposals to cap takeaway sales from licensed grocery stores, to trial the Cardiff Model for Violence Prevention and the establishment of a ‘last drinks survey’.

The APC campaigns for regulation of the alcohol industry to protect the community from the harm it causes, and to provide balance to the industry’s aggressive marketing and normalisation of alcoholic products.

Our vision is that no staff, patients or accompanying persons suffer harm due to violent incidents in the vicinity of the ED and the wider hospital. Guidelines for Reducing the Spread of Infectious Disease in EDs

All ED staff have a role in reducing communicable disease transmission. This document advises on infection prevention and control practices for ED staff members, including ancillary as well as medical and nursing staff. Hospital and ED management are also in scope to ensure good practice is promoted within the ED and across the hospital.

There is expected to be an increased frequency of natural disasters and extreme weather events, which will likely further strain the healthcare system. This research examines the impact of climate events on ED functions and patient presentations. It examines published literature and undertakes an analysis of presentations in NSW EDs.
