The purpose of this document is to outline the criteria to be used by the Research Committee in determining whether or not a research proposal is suitable for endorsement by ACEM.
All hospitals and health services should have a pandemic plan, which includes all aspects of the health service including emergency departments (EDs) and critical care areas. ACEM supports innovation but notes the need for a stronger evidence-base in the context of emergency care.

The Specialist Training Placements and Support Program (STPS) provides registrars with exposure to a range of healthcare settings outside of traditional public teaching hospitals.
Emergency Medicine Education and Training (EMET) provides education, training and supervision to doctors and other health professionals working in emergency departments and emergency care services – particularly in rural, regional and remote Australia – who are not specifically trained in emergency medical care.
