Liquor Regulation 2018 NSW

ACEM response (23 July 2018) expressing concern on the proposed changes and removal of the CIS component of the Regulation (Community Impact Statement). Calls for Liquor & Gaming New South Wales to conduct a comprehensive review of the Regulation 2008 and renew current Regulation while the final review is completed.

ACEM Feedback on the Health Practitioner Regulation (NSW) 2016

The College was invited to provide feedback the NSW Health Practitioner Regulation 2016. The College advocates for the continuing nomination of an emergency medicine physician to the Medical Council NSW and its deliberating committees.

Consultation on the Controlled Substances (Poisons) (Miscellaneous) Va

Amendments were proposed to the Controlled Substances (Poisons) Regulations 2011 to mandate the use of ScriptCheckSA, South Australia’s Real-Time Prescription Monitoring (RTPM) system. ACEM was broadly supportive of the change but highlighted system capability issues will hamper further implementation.

ACEM confirming support for option 2 of the discussion paper submitted by the MBA for complementary and alternative medicines and therapies. This option provides clear guidance for medical practitioners. Advice to clarify the term 'complementary' as it should be pointed out it is neither science/evidence-based medicine.
