Shantha is a QLD based FACEM, currently Deputy Director at Logan Hospital Emergency Department.

Since medical school, she has been a champion of gender equity in medicine, particularly in addressing intersectional and structural bias in medicine.
She is a core member of the Network of Women in Emergency Medicine (NoWEM) and moderated and organised webinars on ‘Antiracism in Emergency Medicine’ and ‘Moral Injury in Emergency Medicine’, as well as being a member of the International Federation of Emergency Medicine (IFEM) Gender Equity Special Interest Group.

She holds several positions within ACEM, including QLD Faculty Board Chair and Chair of Advancing Women in Emergency (AWE), is a member of a QLD Trainee Progression Panel, and sits on the Council of Advocacy, Policy and Partnership (CAPP), the Inclusion Committee and the Events Advisory Committee.
