Climate Change National Framework - Adaptation & Mitigation Bill 2020

ACEM support a National Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation Framework as proposed by the Climate Change Bill 2020. The Bill has called for the establishment of a National Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation Framework and creation of the Climate Change Commission. It also calls for a Climate Change Risk Assessment for Australia.

Draft Protocol for the Review of Patient Blood Management Guidelines

ACEM support of mandatory disease testing in New South Wales for police and emergency services personnel exposed to bodily fluids. Support not given to the removal of autonomy of individuals to consent or withhold consent to tests or medical treatment. Suggest external pathways for testing that does not involve emergency physicians.

Policy on Immunisation in Emergency Departments

Emergency departments (EDs) frequently provide healthcare for populations at risk of being incompletely immunised. EDs are not resourced to be primary providers of routine immunisation, but opportunistic immunisations may be given to incompletely immunised patients who have limited access to other immunisation providers.

FACEM Training Program Handbook

The ACEM Specialist (FACEM) Training Program is for medical practitioners who wish to pursue a career in emergency medicine. Successful completion qualifies for independent practice as a consultant in emergency medicine in Australia and New Zealand and the award of Fellowship (FACEM).
