The Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (ACEM) congratulates two top-scoring Emergency Medicine trainees who have both been awarded the Buchanan Prize for their efforts in the College’s Fellowship Clinical Examination (OSCE).
Here we are in June; not quite half way through the year, although for many it may feel like several years’ of work have been concentrated into the first few months of 2020.
Bearing witness to events occurring in the USA – symptoms of systemic racism, violence and power structures built up over years, decades and centuries – is cause to reflect on, examine and educate ourselves on white privilege and our roles in the systems and structures which allow inequities to occur.

Both College Fellows are based at Sydney’s Royal North Shore Hospital.
