This webinar will discuss all things training and ongoing education in the Pre-Hospital and Retrieval Medicine (PHRM) environment in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand.
For clinicians new or interested in PHRM, this webinar will outline how to start your adventure into the world of pre-hospital medicine, including how to best prepare yourself for success, both clinically and in the job application process.
This will include first-hand experience from a registrar completing a retrieval term, and the joys and challenges they have experienced along the way.
For clinicians who are already involved in PHRM work, we will also discuss the ways in which we use training and clinical governance at the organisational level to achieve excellence as retrieval clinicians. The depth and detail of senior-lead case discussion and audit in the PHRM space differs from that in-hospital, and its utility as an excellent training tool may be of interest to those unfamiliar with its approach.
Furthermore, there will be an information session on the Associateship of PHRM including the big topics – what does it entail, how does the examination process work, and how does it add to a career in the PHRM space.
We will close this event with an opportunity to engage with the Network Executive, and your PHRM colleagues, around training and a career in PHRM, and how to be a clinician who strives for excellence for the benefit of your career, retrieval teams and patients.
This activity will meet 1.5 ACEM CPD hours.
