Letter to SA LRC - SA Ambulance Resourcing

In response to a petition, the SA Legislative Review Committee conducted hearings on issues pertaining to the ambulance service. This submission highlighted the importance of a whole of system response to access block, and therefore ambulance ramping.

Response to Inquiry into health impactions of alcohol & other drug use

ACEM submission to The House of Representatives Standing Committee on Health, Aged Care and Sport Inquiry into the health impacts of alcohol and other drugs. The submission has been informed by the expertise and experience of FACEMs, and provides insights into AOD presentations in Australian EDs, and makes a series of recommendations.

Our Progress

We launched our first Te Rautaki Manaaki Mana Strategy in 2019 and launched our next Strategy in 2022. We have made steady progress, however there is more work to be done to achieve Pae Ora.

Sub to Draft Revised Guidelines: Telehealth Consults with Patients

The Medical Board of Australia is updating the Guidelines for Telehealth Consultations with Patients. The Guidelines had not been updated since 2013 and required revision in light of the rise of telehealth due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Impact Statement - Ambient Air Quality

Ambient Air Quality National Environmental Protection Measure in ACT. ACEM noted the consideration of the impact of poor air quality on respiratory and cardiovascular disease and associated Emergency Department presentations throughout the Impact Statement.
