Welcome to the tenth issue of Your ED. The College is again proud to showcase emergency medicine stories from across Australia, Aotearoa New Zealand and the globe.
In this issue, we focus on the last of the ACEM Core Values, Equity. We sat down with several College members and trainees to get their perspectives on equitable partnerships, workplaces, and healthcare for all.
ACEM recommendations to the Select Committee leading the Inquiry into Health Services in South Australia including guidance relating to the terms of reference around access block and ambulance ramping, mental health access block, recruitment and retention of the medical workforce and building patient capacity and engagement in reform.
In 2018 the ACEM Board determined to establish a role of Independent External Reviewer within the College. The key role of the Reviewer is to provide independent oversight of ACEM’s handling of complaints, including DBSH and whistleblower complaints, as well as decision review processes under the College’s policies and procedures.
