“We can confirm that all SAQ responses have been successfully saved and submitted,” said ACEM President Dr Peter Allely.

“ACEM prioritises the wellbeing of all our candidates and is committed to delivering a professional, high quality examination process. We sincerely apologise for the IT issues experienced by some candidates.”

ACEM’s IT team is currently working closely with the Cliftons IT team to thoroughly investigate the cause of these issues and identify what occurred.

The College has written to candidates and Directors of Emergency Medicine Training about today’s IT issues and encouraged candidates who feel their performance was adversely impacted to apply for special consideration by Friday 29 May 2026. Candidates have been advised that no fee will be charged for Special Consideration applications related to this matter.

Dr Allely said that ACEM recognises the distress that impacted candidates may be experiencing.

“We have reminded candidates that our free and confidential support service, ACEM Assist, is available to them.”
