This webinar will explore components of pre-hospital and retrieval dispatch, clinical and logistical coordination. This function exists in different forms across the states of Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand and the team from the Pre-Hospital and Retrieval Medicine Network will dive deeper into what a successful dispatch and coordination function is made up of.
Dispatch and coordination is one of the most important cornerstones of a mature and high-functioning aeromedical retrieval system – serving as an important interface for clinical governance of aeromedical systems. Each dispatch and coordination function needs to take into consideration the unique resources of its aeromedical and health systems and the individual demands of geography and diverse patient populations, but there are also shared themes that we can collectively build on.
This webinar will bring together PHRM clinicians from across Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand to dig into what works well for dispatch and coordination, and challenges that need to be overcome to enhance this field of pre-hospital and retrieval medicine in an increasingly complex health and aeromedical climate.

What to expect
For those who don’t work in dispatch and coordination roles, this webinar will bring you a greater appreciation of the integral nature of these functions and how getting them right can make or break how an aeromedical system delivers. For those working in the field already – this is an opportunity to liaise with counterparts, share ideas and problems, as we work towards elevating systems and practice across both nations.
We will end the webinar with the opportunity to connect with the PHRM Network Executive in a Q&A session chaired by Dr Clare Richmond.
These are just some of the critical conversations you can expect on the day. Final topics will be confirmed closer to the event.
Everyone with an interest in PHRM is welcome to attend. Please share with your paramedic, nursing and other specialist colleagues.
