The ACEM QLD Autumn Symposium is returning in 2027, and we are looking for passionate FACEMs and trainees to help shape an engaging, relevant and memorable event for the Queensland emergency medicine community.
We are forming the 2027 ACEM QLD Autumn Symposium Working Group and would love to hear from members who are keen to contribute ideas, perspectives and energy. You will be supported by ACEM staff, so no prior event planning experience is required.
Whether you are interested in shaping the scientific program, suggesting speakers and topics, supporting local engagement, or helping create a symposium that reflects the needs of FACEMs and trainees across Queensland, this is your opportunity to get involved.

What’s involved?

As a working group member, you will:
- Help shape the scientific program for the 2027 ACEM QLD Autumn Symposium.
- Suggest speakers, themes, workshops and creative ideas.
- Provide input into marketing and promotion.
- Champion local, regional and community representation.
- Work alongside the ACEM Events Team, who will manage event logistics.

What’s the commitment?

- A kick-off meeting in August 2026.
- Monthly virtual meetings through to June 2027.
- Collaboration via email and shared platforms between meetings.
- Option to be part of the abstract review process and gain additional CPD
- Availability to attend and support the symposium onsite in Brisbane in May 2027.

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking expressions of interest from:
- FACEMs across Queensland.
- Trainee representatives.
- Members with experience or interest in education, program development, research, advocacy, wellbeing, regional practice, workforce issues or event engagement.
- Previous working group members are encouraged to apply.
