We are forming the ASM 2027 Working Group and would love to hear from you – you’ll be supported by ACEM staff, so no prior conference planning experience is required. Whether you are full of ideas for a future-focused scientific programme, passionate about inclusion or enjoy curating engaging speakers and experiences, this is your opportunity to help shape the ASM into the kind of conference you want to attend.

He tono motuhake ki ngā kaikōkiri Māori – a special invitation to Māori champions and leaders

We particularly encourage expressions of interest from Māori FACEMs, trainees and kaikōkiri who are passionate about hauora Māori and strengthening Māori representation within emergency medicine.

Your voice, whakaaro (perspective) and lived experience are important. We want this ASM to feel welcoming, culturally grounded and reflective of the communities we serve across Aotearoa. Your contribution would help ensure that te ao Māori (a Māori worldview), tikanga (customs and protocols) and Māori perspectives are woven meaningfully throughout the meeting.

Seeking Māori advisors

We are also seeking Māori advisors to support the working group throughout the planning process.

This role would involve attending working group meetings and providing cultural guidance and advice to help ensure the ASM is respectful, inclusive and reflective of tikanga Māori. Advisors would help guide whakaaro around programme design, cultural elements, speakers, ceremonies and the overall delegate experience.

We welcome interest from members who would like to contribute in this way and support the creation of an ASM that feels authentically grounded in Aotearoa.
