Reform Roadmap

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic ACEM recommends the following changes are adopted by the Reform Planning Group in Queensland. Models of care that enhance patient flow and avoid access block, PPE utilization for both patients and staff, ED redesign to enable necessary infection prevention and control mechanisms and use of telehealth.

ACEM supports the Queensland Sentencing Advisory Council on legal protections provided to all healthcare staff working throughout Queensland’s hospitals and EDs although could not comment on the specifics of any existing or proposed change to the legal framework but considers that more can be done to reduce the likelihood of violence.
