The Tasmanian Faculty Board made a submission to the Guardianship and Administration Amendment Bill 2022. The Faculty Board's view is that legislation research terms should be amended to align with other states/territories and that deferred consent be included so people can participate in medical research and clinical trials.

Guidelines on Sedation for Diagnostic & Interventional Procedures

ACEM has endorsed these Guidelines, developed by ANZCA with contribution by FACEMs. They apply wherever sedation and/or analgesia for diagnostic and interventional medical, dental and surgical procedures is used (excludes longer term management). While there are variations in practice in the ED, the principles of care are applicable.
