Welcome to the first ACEM President’s blog for 2021. With every new year comes an opportunity for fresh perspectives and a re-invigorated sense of hope and purpose; 2021 more-so than ever before.
This is my end-of-year message to all of you as we approach the final stages of an extraordinary 2020.
This month’s President’s Blog is a reproduction of the President’s Half Hour address delivered by Dr John Bonning at the College’s 37th Annual Scientific Meeting on the 26th of November 2020.
As we approach the final stages of a truly extraordinary year, we need to allow some hope and optimism to enter into our mindsets and thinking.
With the official global COVID-19 death toll having passed one million in September - and likely to be much higher unofficially - we faced another sombre reminder of the extraordinary year we are contending with.
