Two FACEMs and a Founding Fellow were recognised in this year’s Australia Day honours.
Two FACEMs and a Founding Fellow were recognised in this year’s Australia Day honours. Professor George Braitberg was made a Member (AM) in the General Division of the Order of Australia, recognised for significant service to medical administration and emergency medicine, to education and health system design, and to the community. Associate Professor David Green was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM), recognised for service to emergency medicine, and to professional organisations. Dr Richard Cockington, a Founding Fellow, was recognised for his service to medicine as a paediatrician with an OAM. ACEM President Dr Simon Judkins said: “I congratulate George, David and Richard. They represent the best of healthcare and are a testament to the importance of emergency medicine throughout Australia and New Zealand.”
