Election of President-Elect
A reminder that it’s time to elect the next President-Elect of ACEM. Voting has been open since 13 August and closes 5:00pm (AEST) on Wednesday, 5 September 2018. All current ACEM Fellows, including those formally recognised by the College as a Retired Fellow, are eligible to vote.
We have three exceptional FACEMs throwing their hats into the ring – Dr John Bonning, Dr Kim Hansen and Dr Niall Small. So, help shape the future of emergency medicine in Australia and New Zealand and, if you have not already done so, make sure you vote.
Trainee Representative on the ACEM Board
As all members and trainees will be aware, the membership of the ACEM Board includes a trainee representative. The Board is currently inviting nominations of eligible trainees for the position of trainee representative. Nominations close at 5:00pm (AEST) on Wednesday, 5 September 2018.
Exciting time of change for the Council of Advocacy, Practice and Partnerships
Last year, a review of the committee structure of the Council of Advocacy, Practice and Partnerships (CAPP) was undertaken, to ensure its ongoing effectiveness. A new entity structure was approved by CAPP at its meeting in July and by the Board at its meeting earlier this month.
This new structure aligns CAPP and its work plans with the policy, advocacy and research outcomes identified in the College’s new Strategic and Business Plans for 2019 – 2021.
More information about the upcoming expression of interest process for appointment to the revised CAPP entities will be communicated shortly, but in the meantime I would like to thank everyone who has ever been involved in any CAPP entity. Your involvement has been an important and highly appreciated contribution to the advancement of the emergency medicine profession and to the life of the College and we look forward to your ongoing involvement.
ACEM Strategic Plan 2019 – 2021
Strategic planning is important because it provides a clear focus to set direction and evaluate progress.
That’s why we are excited about our ACEM Strategic Plan 2019 – 2021: The Next Phase. It will guide the College in a distinctly identifiable period of development for the organisation, building on its history and outlining the priorities for the College to ensure it remains relevant in a contemporary and complex operating environment.
Following an initial round of consultation, the draft plan will be released in the coming days for wider consultation and feedback.
