The Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (ACEM) and the Emergency Medicine Foundation (EMF) are pleased to announce the Research Symposium 2026, to be held from Wednesday 11 to Thursday 12 March in Brisbane, Queensland.

This year’s theme, Emergency Medicine Research – Past, Present and Future, celebrates the remarkable progress of research in emergency medicine and looks ahead to the innovations shaping the field for years to come.

The two-day, in-person symposium is designed to foster collaboration and inspire excellence in research across Australian and Aotearoa New Zealand emergency departments. It will provide a platform for established and emerging researchers to share their findings, reflect on the milestones that have shaped our field, and explore the new frontiers of emergency medicine research.

Across the program, delegates can expect diverse and engaging sessions featuring expert speakers, updates on active clinical trials, and project presentations. The symposium will also highlight pivotal research from the past, showcase current advances, and provide a glimpse into the future of emergency medicine research and practice.

We welcome all members, trainees, nurses, paramedics, researchers, research assistants, and the research-curious to join us for this dynamic and thought-provoking event as we honour the past, engage with the present, and shape the future of emergency medicine research.
