Welcome From the Chair

The Aotearoa New Zealand Faculty comprises all Fellows and retired Fellows of ACEM residing in Aotearoa New Zealand. These members are represented by the Faculty Board on a range of educational and advocacy issues.

As Chair of the Aotearoa New Zealand Faculty Board, I am committed to advocating on behalf of more than 400 members across the state. The faculty meets three times per year and all FACEMs, retired FACEMs and trainees are encouraged to attend. These meetings – which feature guest speakers, relevant themes and important updates – form the basis of the faculty’s social, wellbeing and advocacy activities throughout the year.
There are numerous ways of getting involved in the College and our faculty has proven to be a great starting point for connecting our members with the issues and activities of greatest interest to them. The more voices we hear the better our advocacy can be – our faculty is a respected voice in the media, we have effective lines of communication with the state government and enjoy rewarding relationships with other medical colleges and stakeholders.
As always, please let me know of issues affecting you locally so we can continue to advocate on your behalf at [email protected].
