Jules obtained his medical degree from St George’s Medical School in London and worked in the UK, South Africa, and New Zealand as a junior doctor before returning to NZ to do his formal ACEM training.

After becoming a FACEM he moved over to Australia for a couple of years. 13 years later he is still here! He has been on multiple college committees over the years, including Dep Censor and Censor for NSW and is currently the Dep Censor for the NT. He has been a DEMT in NSW and is again in Alice Springs where he now lives and works.

He is a graduate of ACEM’s Mentoring Champions program and was Deputy Chair of the Mentoring Reference Group for ACEM. He trained as an executive coach and has helped set up multiple mentoring programs both for ED trainees and other hospital doctors.

He has an interest in wellbeing, including financial wellness, behavioural psychology and how this impacts trainees in their training and critical decision making.

He also loves Aboriginal art and is privileged through his work in Alice to know a large number of local artists, many of whose work now hangs on the walls of ACEM.
