  3. Start a staff resus trolley. Read the helpful how-to article from the WRaP EM team. 
  4. Thank a co-worker Thursday – get staff to nominate a co-worker for their fantastic work and be sure to include allied health staff, clerical staff and cleaning staff.
  5. Meal break Mondays – ensure your team members take their breaks. Listen to this episode with Dr Maryam Makowski researcher and physician performance nutrition coach at Stanford WellMD.
  6. Social activities – dog park meetup, a bush or coastal walk. 
  7. Organise and fund a CPD worthy dinner or meal for colleagues to connect outside the work environment. 
  8. Handover huddles – start each shift by learning your team members names and their learning needs for the day. Start handover by asking about the shift, ask about one win they had for the shift and thank the previous shift for their work.
  9. Does your ED have a Mentorship program? Read the ACEM Mentoring resourses or the how-to article from the team at WRaP EM. 
  10. Start a wellbeing interest group to keep wellbeing an ongoing priority through the year.
  11. Make a business case for a dedicated FACEM departmental wellbeing director role with FTE.
  12. Join the ACEM Wellbeing Network and reach out to the executive for assistance and support.
  13. Create a wellbeing survey to assess what particular needs your department has. You can use the Stanford Model of Professional Fulfillment.
