The committee is bringing together a stellar collection of Kiwi and international speakers for a fun and informative conference following the theme of Changing Tides. It will be an excellent opportunity to explore the ebb and flow of emergency medicine, discuss the local and nationwide issues impacting you and connect with new and old members of the faculty.
Keynote speakers on the cutting-edge of emergency medicine will share their knowledge and experience, including Scott Weingart (virtual) and Darren Braude, airway expert from EMRAP and EmCrit Podcast, former ACEM President John Bonning and ACEM President Clare Skinner, Daniel Fatovich of Perth, a leader in Australasian EM research, Chris Denny on retrieval medicine, Elspeth Frascatore on standing up for vaccination, Emma Lawrey on working in field hospitals, and many more.
There will also be an optional ultrasound workshop, a Te Reo Māori workshop and HOD meetings.
We are also encouraging social activities, wellbeing and connecting with your colleagues. We invite you to join a Waka ama practice on Thursday afternoon, followed by a dinner that evening. There will also be ample time to explore what the local region has to offer, from the stunning Mount Taranaki, and the flourishing local art industry to the local beaches and surf scene.
We look forward to joining you in Taranaki next year for the ACEM Aotearoa New Zealand Faculty Conference 2024 – Changing Tides.
