The Specialist Training Program (STP) is a Federal Government initiative to increase training posts for specialists outside traditional public teaching hospitals, providing an annual trainee salary contribution of $110,000 (GST inc) per 1.0 FTE post.
ACEM currently administers 122 STP posts in emergency medicine settings including private hospitals, rural and remote and special skills. These posts, for ACEM trainees, are in settings including regional/remote and private hospitals as well as non-ED special skills and critical care terms.
Expressions of Interest (EOI) - closed
The Department of Health ran an EOI process for hospitals and other providers (training settings) that were interested in participating in the STP, EMP and IRTP which closed on 30 November 2016. No further applications can be accepted at this time.
The College has currently allocated all 2017 funding; EOI applications will be considered for placement on our reserve list for any future funding availability.

The STP Initial and Final Reports are due 28 February each year. Progress Reports are due 31 August each year. Invoices for each instalment may be submitted along with the reports.
