Alistair grew up in the Welsh country side, graduating from the University of Wales College of Medicine, before making a sea change and commencing his Emergency Medicine career in Adelaide.
He is passionate about enriching and supporting other medical practitioners learning and development. From their early stages in his role as senior clinical lecturer at the University of Adelaide, through their junior years, teaching them as an APLS and ETM instructor, and providing ongoing training and support to rural doctors through EMET.
Starting out as an inaugural local WBA coordinator, Regional WBA coordinator, and Deputy chair of the SA/NT regional assessment panel. Alistair is a DEMT and member of the court of examiners, giving him a broad insight into training and education at ACEM.
In his spare time, Alistair enjoys spending time with his family and travelling.
