Al Spilman Early Career Researcher Grant
The Al Spilman Early Career Researcher Grant provides funds to trainees, and Fellows, who have limited research experience, to assist them in developing and enhancing their research portfolio.
Al Spilman generously supports this grant to further emergency medicine research.
Edward Brentnall Award
Dr Edward Brentnall is a Foundation Fellow of the College and was instrumental in developing the specialty of emergency medicine and in creating a College for medical training. The Edward Brentnall Award was created in recogniton of his outstanding contributions to the College.
The Edward Brentnall Award recognises the most significant published research paper in public health or disaster medicine.
John Gilroy Potts Award
The John Gilroy Potts Award is an award made to the author of an article published in a refereed journal, the content of which made a significant contribution to emergency medicine. It is an award made in the pursuit of truth, knowledge, and wisdom by physicians in emergency medicine.
Dr John Potts is a Foundation Fellow of ACEM.
Morson Taylor Research Grant
The Morson Taylor Research Grant fosters high quality research in EM. The grant was established after the generous bequest made to the ACEM EM Research Foundation by the late Mrs Elisabeth Morson and Mrs Nairne Taylor in 1999.
Sophie Lewis Fellowship in Acute Cardiovascular
The Sophie Lewis Fellowship was established in memory of Sophie Lewis who was a valued and loyal staff member of Equity Trustees, in the Estates Department. Sophie passed away after suffering a cardiac arrest at work. She has been survived by her husband and two children.
The Fellowship is to be used by the recipient to pursue a program of research into acute cardiovascular emergencies and is overseen by the ACEM Foundation.
The Emergency Medicine Ultrasound Grant
The Emergency Medicine Ultrasound Grant supports Advanced Fellows and trainees in research and learning emergency ultrasound projects. The Emergency Medicine Ultrasound Grant (formally known as Ultrasound Bursary) was established on 2012 thanks to donations and surplus funds from the 2009 World Ultrasound Conference.
