Academic Emergency Medicine

The Academic Emergency Medicine Special Interest Group (AEMSIG) furthers the academic presence, involvement and promotion of emergency medicine in all the medical schools in Australia and New Zealand.


AEMSIG provides support for ACEM Fellows and trainees sharing a common academic interest in:
• The education of medical students in emergency medicine;
• Transitional education in emergency medicine knowledge and skills for students progressing toward their junior doctor years;
• Effective education research and newer teaching methods as they relate to emergency medicine.

AEMSIG Membership

AEMSIG is chaired by Professor Gary Browne.
Membership is open to Fellows and trainees of the College.
